Lei Yang Joins Northern Light Venture Capital as Venture PartnerBeijing, China and Menlo Park, Calif. – March 11, 2010 – Northern Light Venture Capital (“NLVC”), a China-focused venture capital firm, today announced the appointment of Lei Yang as a Venture Partner. Mr. Yang will be based out of NLVC’s Beijing affiliate office and is responsible for seeking, evaluating, and managing new investment opportunities in clean tech, semiconductors and other advance manufacturing based technologies.

Lei joined NLVC in late February, 2010. He has over 10 years of experience in technology development, corporate strategy/operations and investments. Prior to NLVC, he was a Principal at VantagePoint Venture Partners (“VPVP”), where he focused on clean-tech investments (e.g., energy storage, lighting, solar, electric vehicle) in the greater China region. Prior to VPVP,he was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company serving Fortune 500 companies across the high-tech value chain: semiconductor equipment, logic, memory and microprocessor devices, networking/storage equipment, and software and IT services. He helped multiple clients in challenging corporate transformation, cross-border M&A and post-merger integration situations. Lei holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Peking University; he also holds an M.S. degree in Computer Sciences and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
